Minnesota is an unregulated state and does not have a law to license or register massage therapists at the state level. Certain cities in the state may require that you complete a Massage Practitioner License Application, but massage therapists are considered unlicensed complementary and alternative health care practitioners. You may still need to complete CE hours to: (1.) Meet city or county ordinances and regulations, (2.) pursue NCBTMB Board Certification, (3.) Maintain professional memberships with massage therapy organizations, (4.) Complete required industry training to meet employer requirements, (5.) Continue professional development in bodywork practices.
